Carven Pre-Fall '12

Carven’s Pre-Fall 2012 Collection was heavily inspired by the 60's working woman. The collection consists of knee-length a-line skirts, shift dresses, contrast Peter Pan collared blouses with matching jackets and cardigans. The dominating hues ranged from mustard and violet to turquoise and various icey blues. The striking accessories stood out against the pieces, as the round clutches channel the upcoming trend of unconventional shapes for handbags this year. This collection also features simple pointy-toed pumps and futuristic shiny flatforms by Robert Clergerie.Key pieces from the collection included cable knit sweaters, and a-line mini skirts.
Creative Director of Carven Guillaume Henry was inspired by photographer Diane Arbus’s 1960's portraits of real women because he“…really wanted to get this feeling of the way they used to dress then in the ’60s…there was no question of age or social position.”

Dries Van Notes S/S '12

Amazing collection by Dries Van Noten! It is so nice to see photography as a print on fabric, pictures from San Fransisco and Las Vegas add their neon and city scape to the garments. My favourite is the water picture with the bright aqua juxtaposed with black, giving a pop of colour.

Patouf s/s 12

Swedish label Patouf mixes romance with playfulness for their spring summer 2012 collection. Inspired by the French novel, "Le Petit Prince" the collection has a boyish charm that is infused with warm desert tones.  With the hem lines being just above the knee, these looks are perfect for a walk in the park on a sunny day or a stroll along the Siene.

A Short Trip To Paris

I spent the past week in Paris. I walked around the city and enjoyed the views, did a little bit of shopping and a lot of macaroon eating. Luckily the weather was nice for the most part and I got to see a little more of Paris that I missed last time.
I also kept 3 subway tickets in hopes of my return....
I also found this great recipe on how to make macaroons too!
