Carven Pre-Fall '12

Carven’s Pre-Fall 2012 Collection was heavily inspired by the 60's working woman. The collection consists of knee-length a-line skirts, shift dresses, contrast Peter Pan collared blouses with matching jackets and cardigans. The dominating hues ranged from mustard and violet to turquoise and various icey blues. The striking accessories stood out against the pieces, as the round clutches channel the upcoming trend of unconventional shapes for handbags this year. This collection also features simple pointy-toed pumps and futuristic shiny flatforms by Robert Clergerie.Key pieces from the collection included cable knit sweaters, and a-line mini skirts.
Creative Director of Carven Guillaume Henry was inspired by photographer Diane Arbus’s 1960's portraits of real women because he“…really wanted to get this feeling of the way they used to dress then in the ’60s…there was no question of age or social position.”

Can You Spot the Difference?

So I had no idea that the Carven jacket (pictured left) came in yellow too?
Kidding- its the latest run of the mill from H&M. The Carven creamsicle orange jacket made its debut in their spring 2011 line, and H&M decided to pay homage (aka copy) to it for their spring 2012 line. Too bad it doesn't come in mint...

As it Gets Colder...

But I think the winner is-- Miu Miu

As you can see, I am on the hunt for a winter jacket as it is starting to get colder in Firenze, I dont know how much longer I can go without one!

Carven Resort 2012

My favourite French revived brand, Carven  created an amazing Resort 2012 collection. There is a slight ode to Switzerland which can been seen in the printed dresses and shorts as well as a sort of dirndl cut in the jacket, while their famous bowed back shoes make the look come together.
I wish there was some swimwear though!!
