Today, a classmate and I visited Roberto Ugolini. In a previous post I mentioned about a group project that we are doing in which we needed to find a company that had a labour intensive product. Therefore we thought of highlighting a local artisan. His shop is very interesting and full of gorgeous handmade shoes. You can tell he really takes pride in his work and never skips any detail when it comes to what his client wants. We interviewed an intern there, Allen, whom answered all of our questions and told us the whole process of what it takes to make a shoe. The process takes time as the client must come in to get their foot measured, then a wooden from must be made- therefore the shoe isn't really ready until 8 or so months later, (but completely worth it!).
After the interview we walked around the Centre only to find that there was some sort of car thing going on (yes- car thing). They had blocked some of the roads and antique, vintage, and luxury cars drove by waving at people and honking their horns. I really wish I knew what even was going on so I could try to explain it a bit better...
Anyhow I capped the hot and sunny day off with gelato: opera and nutella
