Rodarte F/W '12

I thought that these pictures from Rodarte Facebook page really showed where they got their inspiration from. If you havent heard about the collection that showed a couple weeks back in NYC, it was all about the Outback and Australia. Taking hues, shaded, and shapes from the country that is "down under". Rodarte is normally inspired by their home state of California, I find there is a slight link between California and Australia....

The Paper Lantern

I came across this amazing d.i.y on the Design Sponge and I thought I would share my findings with you. This light is super easy to make!
All you have to do is adhere the paper strips to any type of lantern ( however if you don't have an laying around- IKEA is a great source). While looking at the pictures I was thinking on how you could make it your own, so here are a couple of my thoughts:
  • ombre strips
  • experimenting with the shapes/ size of strips
  • putting a different colour bulb in

Salvatore vs. Jeffery

Yesterday while on Facebook, LF stores posted this photo (the second one). I immediately thoguht that they were taking a picture of a pair of Salvatore Ferragamo shoes. However, I was wrong once I read the caption that said- Jeffery Campbell!
The first picture is a pair of shoes from Salvatore Ferragamo and the second is a pair from Jeffery Campbell's new collection. I do like to find where designers got their inspirations from, but this looks like a pretty close copy to me.
