After my classes were done for the day, I headed back to Pitti Uomo for round two. Yesterday we were assigned a paper- pick a brand and then do a write up on it, and since yesterday was a little hectic, I decided to commit today to look for that brand and ask some questions.
The brand I choose was Jane Carr, they have amazing silk and cashmere scarves. I was instantly drawn to them with their ombre and aztec print scarves. And to make things better, they were nice- I had walked into some other booths (will remain nameless :p) and lets just say, they were not so helpful.
After I found my brand, I walked around and people watched, during my walk I got my picture taken by random people about 4 times (or thats as many as came up and asked me for a picture, some people are slightly creepy and think you dont see them with their camera), they all loved my romper that looked like a dress. So I did a little promoting for a label I interned at in NYC- Ali Ro.
After Pitti Uomo, I made way over to Pitti W (the women's pre collections), unfortunately, I didnt really see anything that I hadnt seen before, and there wasnt a lot of booths either. Slightly disappointed it that.
Here is a list of trends I saw in Pitti Uomo
- pocket squares
- colourful pants/ blazers
- pants rolled up just showing a little of the ankle, paired with desert boots or derby shoes
- hats- all varieties
- vintage sunglasses
- Americana- flag prints and the rugged cowboy look
- Britannia- rugby, posh and put together
- vintage- anything that resembled worn and old (sometimes even dirty looking)
If time allows me tomorrow-there might be a third round!
