Eco Friendly Jewellery With A Cause

Alkemie Jewellery, made in L.A-  promotes fair trade, local living wage and eco-sustainable business. The brand also chooses a new charity each month in which a percentage of the proceeds from the line will go to a good cause.
Their philosophy behind the line is to make people aware of the existing harmful effects and conditions of the metal and gemstone industry. This can include social issues such as children working in dangerous conditions to mine and mount stones, as well as environmental issues, like toxic chemicals from mines seeping into the surrounding land and severely damaging precious watersheds.
All of Alkemie Pieces are made from 100% reclaimed metals, the leather comes from sustainable cattle farmers and is dyed with earth friendly dye.

What is Precious?

These amazing necklaces are actually made fully out of silicone! They are designed by the Ek Thongprasert, who studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Art in Antwerp.

I wish they had one in mint!

Tom Binns

I love these necklaces by Tom Binns.
Lately I haven't been wearing much jewellery- however I would like to get my hands of one of these!
I have found that rhinestone jewellery has really got a grandma look to it, but these colourful and fun designs don't remind me of anything grandma-chic. They would look great with a solid colour t-shirt and jeans, either to be dressed up or down

Lace by Saskia Diez

This collection entitled, Lace by Saskia Diez is based around 4 basic geometric patterns. The pieces are to be worn either casual with a t-shirt or can be elegant with a cocktail dress. Each necklace is made from lacquered wood beads from local German maple trees strung on a nylon thread. And if you are thinking what I am thinking- it would be a great d.i.y project!

"Lace is between clothing and jewellery. I love lace and how it decorates you with transparency"
