Today our class got to go to Pitti Uomo and see for ourselves what all the talk was about.
I dont think I have ever seen so many well dressed guys before! It was really nice to see fashionable guys, whether it was a complete look or just their shoes or sunglasses, they really made people watching great.
Walking around the grounds I couldn't help but think of the future of the fashion industry, menswear has always been very underrated and I think there is going to be a shift in the industry-more emphasis will be put on menswear. Personally I am now finding myself interested in blazers and derby shoes for everyday. Perhaps menswear is turning into the new womenswear, my Professor Danilo Venturi explains here his thoughts on today.
A small group of us spent the day walking around booths, gathering free goodie bags, and enjoying the sights. There were also various lounges open where you could eat and drink, we heard everything form reggae to house music today.
There were tons of people taking photos and I even made it into a streetstyle blog, I will let you know how that turned out once the picture is posted.
Tomorrow I plan on going back, I am going to focus on finding trends as well as getting some information from some vendors in terms of their brand and where they see themselves going in the future.
